Baja’s Story
What are we named for?

In 2020, Baja was diagnosed with Degenerative Tendinitis after tearing both his ACL’s (a ligament in the knee). Without a Bilateral TPLO surgery, he would have lost his ability to walk.
In September of that year, Baja got his surgery and a plate with four screws in each knee!

During his surgery recovery, Baja became overweight and got up to 100 lbs. A healthy weight for a lab of his size is 80 lbs.
Dogs who have knee surgery, every extra pound they gain over their ideal weight can cause arthritis earlier.
To get Baja down to his goal weight, we started making him homemade customized homemade meals with the help of a veterinary nutritionist.
With this new diet and consistent exercise, Baja lost 20 lbs!

Now at his ideal weight, you would never know Baja had knee surgery.
At a slim 80 lbs, Baja can run and play with the best of them!
Baja’s success with our meals, inspired us to start hand crafting custom meals for other dogs!
We are a small team, cooking and packaging all our meals by hand. We assure special attention to all the little details that you won’t get with a larger company.
Our hope is to give all dogs the opportunity to live their best lives, just like Baja. This created our motto, “Be Like Baja!”.
